Rural Broadband and Computer Networking
a business of Plow Creek Fellowship conducted by Steve Graham

Rural High Speed Wireless or Satellite-based Internet access for Bureau, Stark, Marshall, and Putnam Counties in Northcentral Illinois. Computer Networking for the small business, home office (SOHO) and residential users.

Tired of slow dialup Internet access, having people unable to reach you because you are "On the NET"? Tired of frequent disconnects due to noisy phone lines? Have a second phone line for Internet access (at over $30/month)? Too far from DSL or cable Internet service providers to get high speed access through them? Get high speed Internet access through one of Doctor Network's Internet Service Providers!

Doctor Network has partnered with Network Business Systems (NBS) to provide wireless broadband Internet to the Bureau County area. Currently (March 2008) about 50% of central and western Bureau County is accessible to the NBS wireless system. As of March 2008, towers are in the vicinity of Neponset, Buda, Mineral, Princeton, Tiskilwa and Kasbeer. Pricing plans are available here. Contact NBS directly to purchase this system, either through their web interface or by telephone at 309-944-8823. Please tell them you heard of their services through the Doctor Network website. I can do your installation, if there is usable signal at your location, and local maintenance on the connection, if needed.

Doctor Network is also a dealer/installer for Starband and WildBlue equipment, two-way satellite-based Internet access. If you can't get NBS wireless signals but still want broadband, it is likely that i can install one of these systems for you. Costs for the systems can be found here for Starband and here for WildBlue. Since i work through WindPower Electric LLC. in Princeton Illinois, a DishNetwork dealer, check here for information about the DishNetwork packages.  At last notice (Feb 2008) WildBlue had filled it's allocation of users on the spotbeam for our area and was not installing new customers, so call the phone number listed on the DishNetwork link for the latest installation information. Contact me directly for purchasing these systems, either through email: doctornetwork(AT)doctornetwork.net (you need to copy this yourself since web-crawlers like to send spam to myaddress@nowhere.junk.com if i put the (AT) symbol in) or phone me at 815-646-4950 or 4730 and leave a message if no one answers. Click on the Starband (fancy page - best viewed using a Flash-enabled browser) to see my Starband dealer page.

Do you have more than one computer to hook up to the Internet at your location? Do you want to share a printer and files with the other computers?   I can design, install, configure and maintain a wired or wireless network for you for various types of resource sharing, and teach a person at your site how to handle the majority of possible networking problems. I sell wireless routers and other equipment supplied through NBS.

My service area is a 50 mile radius from my home near Tiskilwa, Bureau County, Illinois, with a $0.40/mile charge for customers located beyond that distance. I charge a flat $50/hour labor (minimum $50 charge) plus the cost of parts
(plus a 15% parts mark-up). I can also make estimates for standard jobs like installation of simple WiFi Hotspots, standard NBS or Starband/WildBlue residential installations or simple two-computer networking hookups.
