We’ll be at farmers’ markets tomorrow in Peoria and Princeton. We have lots of watermelon, peppers (green, red & yellow sweet peppers plus jalapeno, cayenne, and habanero hot peppers), tomatoes, and red raspberries. We also plan to bring concord grapes, basil, honey from our farm, raspberry jam, garlic, winter squash (butternut, acorn, and jester), garlic, green beans, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and some cucumbers and zucchini. Our jalapenos are so big and abundant I’m offering a sale for pepper lovers in Princeton. One pint is $3, but 2 pints are only $4. Plow Creek Bakery is on vacation. If you aren’t coming for the parade, come to market early to avoid the crowd. Princeton market goes from 8:30 to 1:00 and Peoria from 8:00 to noon.

Saturday at Princeton Farmers’ Market we will have a good quantity of red raspberries, ground cherries, and chestnuts. We have a fair amount of tomatoes, but most are not as pretty anymore, so I’m lowering the price by a third (to $1.80 / pound) and we still have canning tomatoes at $12 / half bushel. We also plan to bring black walnuts, garlic, honey (local - from our farm near Tiskilwa), and potatoes. We just made our first batch of red raspberry jam. It is near the end of the watermelon season. We will also have some Plow Creek Bakery goods: breads, rolls, crackers, and cookies.
