The Foxvog
family came to Plow Creek
in December 2000 from Athens, OH. They have been active with
Christian intentional communities since becoming part of Jubilee Partners in 1980.
Christian
community, peace and justice, and inner healing are some
of our main interests. Daniel and Samuel have been home-schooled
or taught in Christian community.
Jim maintains the Plow Creek and the Plow Creek Farm web sites. Jim and Meg both work long hours on Plow Creek Farm during the summers, with a reduced farm work load the rest of the year. Daniel graduated from High School in June 2005. After working for Plow Creek Farm over the summer, he went to a Service Adventure project in Philippi, WV. He now attends Goshen College , majoring in Peace, Justice, and Conflict Studies. Daniel went on an 8 day service trip to Nicaragua in March 2004. See his report and his pictures. Daniel also did hurricane relief work with Mennonite Disaster Service. Jim occasionally leads worship. Some of his worship meditations may be found on Plow Creek's Sunday Meditations page. He put together a list of scriptures relating to pacifism. Peace is the way of Jesus! Jim was asked to speak on resisting war taxes at a panel discussion on the Iraq War at IVCC. Read his prepared remarks. Jim Foxvog organized the March 16, 2003 candlelight vigil for peace in Princeton, as part of the global vigil for peace and against war on Iraq. On Friday, March 7, 2003, Jim spoke with our Representative Jerry Weller's staff person, Reed Wilson about war on Iraq. (Click to read more) The Foxvogs
have been in
the news repeatedly because of their peace vigil. We have been involved
in a peace vigil at the county courthouse
almost every week since
January 2002. The Illinois
Valley Voice had an article on our vigil, Christians
Protest for Peace in Princeton, in April 2006.

Meg, and their sons, Daniel, 15, and Samuel, 10, show their support for
peace instead of military action in Afghanistan while displaying their
signs
along South Main Street in Princeton. "We are trying to remind
Christians
of the teachings of Jesus. Loving one's enemy is not consistent with
destroying one's enemy," Jim Foxvog said. "We want to emphasize
pray for
peace rather than protest." Meg said they "oppose
retaliation by our
government." The family has spent one hour each Wednesday since January
2002 in front of the courthouse in Princeton.
