Plow Creek Mennonite Church
Mission
Check out our personal
stories
Our mission statement is:
"A
Global
Village Practicing the Peace of Jesus." In adult
Sunday school we discussed what that means. During one adult
Sunday school we put together a
poster about our mission and a short paper
describing some of our mission.Being a
church community has always been a prime focus of our
church's existence.
We have been active in the Christian Peacemaker Teams. Two members, Jim Fitz and Erin Kindy, regularly serve in Colombia with CPT. Jim does peacemaking full time. Rick Reha and Bill Newhouse have also gone on short term CPT delegations to Palestine. An intern program, an extensive immersion experience in Christian communal living, started in June 2006. Richard and Ruth Ann Friesen have been called to mission in Argentina. See their prayer card and mission photo album. Their detailed public 2005 and 2006 Letters from Argentina are also available. Several members have been active leading in the Way of Christ retreats. We have a
sister community relationship with
Valle Nuevo in El Salvador. Most years there are visits
in each direction.

has sent groups to protest the
School of Americas.
A number of
members have received training in
Theophostic
® ministry, an approach to praying for the inner healing that
we all need. The
Lehmans at
Reba Place have much good info on this approach.
Many of help out at the nearby Camp Menno Haven. Tim Gale was Program Director. The Gales (Tim & Carol's family) have now left Plow Creek to be part of YWAM. We pray God's blessings in their new calling. Rich Foss, with help from a number of others at Plow Creek, have started a leadership training ministry, Evergreen Leaders. One of our teens, Daniel Foxvog, went on an eight day mission trip to Managua, Nicaragua. You can read his report and look at his pictures. Rick Reha
and Daniel Foxvog have gone to the Gulf coast
to help with hurricane relief with Mennonite Disaster Service.
Our jobs are also seen as mission. Many members work in health and social services. Other members work on the community-owned Plow Creek Farm , where you can "Pick the Berry Best."
