The Newhouse family left Plow Creek in Fall 2007 for work in Pennslyvania.  We miss them.

We rejoiced when Bill and Kate were both baptized and joined the church in October 2006.
Kate Newhouse being baptized

You can read the statement Kate wrote on faith and baptism:
I am still a newcomer in my journey in seeking Christ, which began with the second spiritual awakening that I experienced in my life, about six years ago.  At this time I had been steeped in social and political activist/anarchist culture, and was truly finding a deeper calling for my life.  I was realizing that the world, and doing what was expected of me given my socio-economic  upbringing, did not offer me a pathway for the truth, meaningfulness, goodness and righteousness that I sought... Rich Foss wrote about the Wild and willing baptism in his blog.

Kate has worked helping handicapped folks at Gateway, and is currently a full-time mom: "Although feeding, clothing and cleaning up after the girls takes up a good portion of my day, I do have other interests and hobbies.  I find enjoyment in doll-making, sewing, cooking and baking, organic farming/gardening, biking, walking in the woods, drawing (especially portraits and figures), food preserving (jam-making and canning), music creation, and traveling.  I am a radical at heart who longs to see massive social and political change in our world.  At Plow Creek we strive to create a microcosm environment of a society committed to practicing and promoting peace, loving God and each other, exercising compassion, communicating with each other in openness  and honesty, sharing our labor, food and financial resources, and following the message of Christ.  Our family has just joined the Sharing Neighbors group which is the first first stepping stone in the process of becoming Fellowship (communal) members.  We are anxious to see what direction the Lord is leading us."

Bill is a tattoo artist and a musician, releasing music under multiple monikers – follow the links to discover them. Here's an interview where he tells some of his story and his Wikipedia entry. Check his recording label, Snakebird Records, for more on his music. Here's one review.

Bill is took a trip to Palestine in January 2007 as part of a CPT delegation.  He shares some of his thoughts on trip at his Palestine/Israel page.     His writings include:
